A calm place to be heard without judgment. The approach is gentle and grounded — focused on safety, clarity, and practical support that fits your real life.
I was born in Alberta and am of mixed heritage — First Nations, Caribbean and European. I have over 13+ years of experience working as a mental health therapist and outreach worker, and 18 years before that as a teacher in Alberta with children aged three to eighteen. I moved to the Okanagan to be closer to family in 2020.
I have extensive experience around the globe: travelling, studying, and working. Past volunteer and work experience with foreigners and immigrants in BC and Alberta and as an inernational student counseller at the Universiy of British Columbia Okanagan has helped me understand the many challenges newcomers to Canada often experience. Working on and off Indigenous reserves — both rural and urban — and as an Indigenous woman myself, has broadened my knowledge of the various experiences, cultures, and struggles of Indigenous peoples.
Currently, I am a counselling provider for FNHA in BC for those Indigenous with status and direct bill on their behalf. I also see non-Indigenous clients who can submit to their insurance.
Dedication to empowering clients' voices and promoting unique healing journeys is a passion. In sessions techniques I may implement include: somatic experiencing, attachment theory, CBT, DBT, expressive arts therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. I am humbled and look forward to the opportunity to walk alongside you.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my partner and cat, gardening, hiking, paddleboarding, cooking, and crafting.
Like water smoothing stone over time, progress is often quiet and steady. We focus on what feels safe and doable.
Warm, calm, and supportive sessions where you don't have to "perform" or have everything figured out.
Practical coping tools for stress and anxiety, plus gentle exploration of patterns, relationships, and self-talk.
